The history of kit kat clocks

the Allied Clock Company was founded in Portland. to make these animated clocks.
The first clocks, produced in 1932, had no markings on the back. Most of these early models are made of metal (see next picture), and have only four toes on each of the two legs. it was running on 110 volts, Allied Clock quickly adopted the plastic molding method and moved to Seattle.

in the 40s and 50s: these two decades are marked by popularity and explosive growth.
it was during these years that the first (and last) changes in its design were made.
The Kit-Cat's upper legs and dapper bow tie have been added.
Due to its popularity, Kit-Cat soon became synonymous with 1950s America.
In 1962: Allied Clock moved to Southern California and it was around this time that the current name appears California Clock Company.
In 1982, the owner of the California Clock Company convinced Woody Young to take over as president/owner of Kit-Cat klock.
At the end of the 1980s to the end of the 1980s, the engine manufacturer relocated its production to Asia, leaving Kit-Cat without an American engine supplier.
Having no other alternative, the California Clock Company was driven to develop a new technology with battery operation.
The year 2007 marked the 75th anniversary of the Kit-Cat klocks and was celebrated with the Great All American Road Show.
which lasted 75 days along Route 66. As a reminder The Kit-Cat Klocks are made on Route 66 just next to Los Angeles, On this occasion the largest Kit Cat Klock in the world was manufactured: here is the largest cat klock kit and the president of the mr woody young brand.

specially painted in the color of the clock to participate in 75 events across the country, including parades and car shows.

2012 Marked the 80th anniversary of Kit-Cat KLOCK!
50 years of clock making in California and 30 years with Woody Young as president.....
2017 After 85 years the Kit-Cat continues to prove that they are "timeless" because Kit-Cat Klocks are now sold worldwide.
In fact, for 50 years, someone has been buying a Kit-Cat Klock every 3 minutes.
2022, we will be able to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the brand.........
